Gracespring Family,
As you may have noticed recently, we are in need of space! On many Sunday mornings it can be challenging to find a seat during worship, not to mention our midweek programs and groups often struggle for sufficient space as well. What an exciting “issue” for us to navigate as a congregation! The Lord is continuing to grow us as a family of faith and we are rejoicing in this!

For some time now, we have been working with civil engineers & architects to seek options for how we might address this need for space. However, we recognize that as we make any decision, our ultimate guidance must come from the Lord. To this end, we’d like to invite you to join us in prayer during the month ahead. In addition to praying at home or in your life groups, there are two specific ways you can play a part in this process.

The first involves praying on our church campus throughout the month of May. Our hope is to have at least one person a day (preferably more) commit to pray on some part of Gracespring’s property. If you are in the area, feel free to stop by for a few minutes and pray. Walk around the buildings, walk around the block, or just stay in your car and pray…The point is for us to bathe the property in prayer over the next 30 days, and as we do so, seek to listen for God’s voice of guidance. We will have a calendar set up in the church where you can commit to a certain day(s) of the month. Also, if you’d like to schedule a time to come pray in the sanctuary or other parts of the buildings, feel free to call or email me or the church office.

In addition to daily prayer, on Saturday, May 28, we will finish out the month with a half-day prayer retreat. This will take place at the church from 9am-noon and will include a time of focused prayer over the property, as well as prayer over the various options that have been presented to us for expansion. My hope is that you will make plans to join us that morning as we seek the Lord’s guidance for our next steps.

Below we have included a few drawings for you to utilize during your times of prayer over this month. The first of these is the most recent option and is more detailed than the others, as it came through work with an architect as opposed to a civil engineer. The other drawings were produced during a feasibility study which was completed in 2020. You should note that there are multiple options listed on each of these older drawings, however all of the prices listed are 2 years old and likely will have increased substantially.

We are also posting things that have come to us through listening for God’s voice as it pertains to expansion. You will see a list of things that have already been shared and are encouraged to listen to what the Lord may be revealing to you as you pray. Pray about these things listed and ask for the Lord to bring great confirmation as to that which He is speaking to us. If you have something you believe the Lord has revealed to you, feel free to share with brian@gracespring.com

lastly, we have included the Powerpoint presentation which was shared with the congregation when the feasibility study was completed. The hope is that this information may help to remind everyone of the process up to this point, as well as to catch anyone up who was not in attendance at previous meetings.

This is an exciting time for our church, and I am grateful for the opportunity God is providing for us to trust Him in ever increasing ways. If you have any questions about any of this info, or believe you are hearing something from the Lord, through prayer, about the renovation process, please don’t hesitate to contact me: brian@gracespring.com .

By grace,
Brian Strickland

Things that have been shared so far:

  • Before having seen the most recent drawings, someone saw the stage on the opposite side of the current sanctuary in a dream.
  • Some who initially thought that a small renovation was the best way to go, have sensed the Lord calling us to trust Him to do a much larger work.
  • During a time of group prayer Isaiah 54:2-3 (AMP) was brought to mind:
          • “Enlarge the site of your tent [to make room for more children];
            Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not spare them;
            Lengthen your tent ropes
            And make your pegs (stakes) firm [in the ground].
            “For you will spread out to the right and to the left;
            And your descendants will take possession of nations
            And will inhabit deserted cities.
